Healthy Eating on the Go

Healthy Eating on the Go is easier with a little preparation and determination. Have you ever been so busy that you forgot to even eat and then felt so hungry that you just reached for the nearest convenient processed junk food? Let's find creative ways to stop that and create new habits!

Sometimes we over book our schedule and our calendar becomes a little over whelming! We don't allow enough time in the day to get in the kitchen as often as we would like to or need to.

As a society, we've become accustomed to eating snacks and eating on the go a lot more than ever before. We tend to hurry through our meals and grab whatever is convenient.

You don't have to pay more money for convenience or put your health on the back burner by eating more junk because of time restraints.

With a little preparation and planning ahead of time Healthy Eating on the Go will become a habit in no time! Curb your hunger with some of the following snacks...

In the salty arena we have:
  1. Kale or seaweed chips
  2. Olives
  3. Pickled vegetables, like cucumbers, beets, carrot, and daikon
If you prefer a creamy texture, try:
  1. Avocado
  2. Good Quality organic yogurt
  3. Baba Ghanoush
Curb your sweet tooth with:
  1. Dates stuffed with nut butter
  2. Small handful of organic dark chocolate chips
  3. Fresh or dried organic fruit (avoid added sugar in the dried fruit)
You may have to prep some things ahead of time and pack a cooler for some, but it beats having to pay money for convenient junk food.

Great ideas! I like snacking on dried fruit and organic trail mix when I am on the go. I also bring along fresh fruit for my 2 year old daughter to eat while we are grocery shopping or sitting in waiting rooms. Healthy food can be fast food when prepared ahead :) - Natalie
Kate, thanks for commenting. Dates and bacon, YUM!
I love these Lori! I need to try incorporating dates, I’ve only had them wrapped in bacon ???? -Kate
I love to snack as well, I'm so glad you found this to be helpful!! The salty snacks are my fav.!
I love this post because I am a serious snacker. This will help me make better choices in what I want to snack on, whether its sweet or salty. Thank you!
